The Specifics

Designed by Robert Tombs, now President of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and a noted book and graphic designer the book is printed and bound by Friesens of Altona, Manitoba. The 9×9 inch book is 268 pages printed on 80 lb. Matte White paper, with 114 plates printed with 4 process colours throughout. The book is Hard Cover and bound in a Rainbow BB Black over 100 pt. board, gathered, sewn, encased complete with headbands plus silver foil stamping of the Title on the spine. The dust jacket is a scuff resistant matte laminated with monochrome colour images.

The book is printed in the Questa typeface which, while having increased legibility, maintains the style and contrast of typefaces popular in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. It’s italic version suggests associations with both humanist and hand-written letterforms and is particularly suited to introductory quotations.
